For everyone else who has to drive to get to Ka'anapali Beach and Black Rock Beach (Pu'u Keka'a), the question of where to park is a big one. Of course, you can get lucky, and score a spot when someone is leaving. This will add considerable dollars to our budget.
Whaler's Village is easy and if you park there and either shop or eat at the places, you can get up to 2 validations for 6 hours free. If you see locals please keep in mind that this beach is a PUBLIC beach and we must all share it with Aloha. Even if you’ve come to Maui for peace and solitude, it’s definitely worth spending an evening strolling the beachwalk, admiring the hum of beachfront restaurants and resorts, glitzy couples, and evening surfers. Ka'anapali is an absolutely beautiful beach. Though it is a public beach many locals don’t frequent it due to the many “dirty looks” received from tourist. At one point, we did go down to the water and take pictures. If you're staying at one of the hotels along Ka'anapali Beach and Black Rock Beach (Pu'u Keka'a) then accessing the beach is as easy as walking out the back door of your hotel. I read that parking fees are about $12.00 per day. The choice is to pay to park in the resort parking lots, and I prefer the Ka`anapali Beach Hotel and the Sheraton at Black Rock.
